Bread, Glorious Bread!
Cooking Roman "Honey Bread"
We have been researching bread in Roman Times and decided to make Sweet Honey Toast. We sliced the bread into strips then dipped it into milk. Mrs Knight fried the bread in olive oil. When it was cooked, we drizzled honey over the top. We then ate the bread - it was delicious!!!

As part of our preparations for Harvest, we talked about how bread is made and looked at some of the many different types of bread from around the world. Year 3&4 then had the opportunity to taste some of the breads. We were amazed at how different the bread from around the world could be. We found out which breads were popular. Pita bread, from Greece and Turkey was one of our favourites but the olive fococcia from Italy was not enjoyed by many! In our Harvest Festival Celebrations, the children will be displaying the breads and talking about where they come from.
