Maths Games Library's First Birthday

Amazingly it is the 1st birthday of our Maths Games Library and it is still going strong. Of course we had to have a party. Lots of our children and parents joined the staff for cake and refreshments and we all sang Happy Birthday. We have lots of new games. All donations from the refreshments will go to supplement our library further. Our Maths Library has been nominated for the TES award for Outstanding Numeracy Initiative.

We have sung Happy Birthday to our Maths Library and Mrs Stopps begins cutting the cake. Don't forget to blow the candle out!	Waiting for a slice of cake.
The cake is slowly disappearing as hungry pupils gather for a slice after a long day at school.	We were delighted at how many people helped to celebrate the Maths library's birthday.

Maths Games Library Opening

On 31st January 2008, Titchmarsh Primary School opened its very first Maths games library. The library will be opened after school every Wednesday, children will be able to borrow a game for a week to play with their family. This will continue to raise standards and also make maths a fun thing to do. The maths library was partly funded through the school's PTA and a research grant from the National Centre of excellence in Teaching (NCETM). The library was officially opened by County Council Numeracy advisors Cathy Freeth and Wendy Edwards, watched by staff, children, parents and friends.
