School Council Meeting

MINUTES

Friday 18^th January 2008

· Present:

All school councillors and Mrs Milton

· Apologies:

None

· Minutes from last meeting:

Everybody was happy with the minutes. Mrs Milton showed SC that minutes are now posted on the school website.

· Suggestion Box:

Fizzy fountain in Year 3&4

This idea was unanimously declined by SC as they felt that “People might do lots of burps.”, “It might make people hyperactive.” and “It will cause tooth decay”

DC brought a list of ideas to the meeting. Some ideas are already being activated e.g. an arts and craft club. However SC liked the idea of a plant stall from gardening club and a time capsule. These will be discussed at a later meeting.

· Fundraising activities-8^th February 2008

· A vote was taken for the 3 ideas volunteered by SC

Slipper day – 4 votes

Crazy hair – 8 votes

Cake stall after school – 1 vote

It was agreed to charge 50p for children and staff to come to school with crazy hair on that day. KC volunteered her mum to come in and help give children crazy hair. JM asked KC to ask her mum first. Connie and Alice volunteered to write a letter to children and parents this weekend.

· Fundraising appeal

SC decided that 50% of the proceeds to fundraising events would go to NSPCC and 50% to buying more equipment for playground and field.
