School Council Meeting

MINUTES

 

Tuesday 26th February 2008

 

·        Present:

All school council (SC) and Mrs Milton

 

·        Apologies:

None

 

·        Minutes from last meeting:

JM urged SC to looks at minutes on the website and to encourage fellow pupils to do the same

 

·        Suggestion Box:

1.     Mirrors in the toilets – There is a cost implication and a health and safety issue. JM will discuss with staff

2.    Swimming Pool at school – SC all felt this would be a great idea but there is no space and upkeep would be very expensive for a small school

3.    Bird feeders in various places around the school environment – SC thought this was an excellent idea and were in agreement to take this forward. JM to ask FOTS if they will fund. Tom to ask Grandma Peters for advise and James to ask Oliver in Year 2

4.    More books in the library and book corners of classes. JM agreed that this was an ongoing project and more books are being purchased

5.    Easter Egg Hunt, all agreed this would be an excellent idea. JM to organise

 

 

·        Crazy Hairy Day results:

£30 has been raised due to this event. FOTS have agreed to match any amount raised. SC have agreed that half of the money raised, £15 would go to Great Ormond Street Hospital. FOTS have agreed to match any amount raised. Therefore after donation SC have £45 to spend so far on playground equipment. SC asked for more bean bags and a box with a lid to hold them.

 

·        Buddy Bench:

This was a suggestion at the last meeting. JM will ask FOTS if they will fund a Buddy sign to be placed above one of the benches to indicate it is a buddy bench.

 

·        Next Fund Raising Event:

28th March

After school.

School council will organise a cake stall in the playground.

Emily to write letter to parents and children
