Minutes of meeting held on 26th February 2008

MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING

Minutes of previous meeting have been received by all and the master signed off

 

CHAIRMANS REPORT

No Chairman’s report as chairman has resigned due to ill health.

RK proposed PG to be new chair SR seconded. PG has agreed to be the new chairperson. Thank you.

 

TREASURERS REPORT

Premium Bank account is not looking too bad with £4333.79. Community Account has £72.00 and Tracker Account has £1677.11.

End of year accounts have now been completed by Julia Higgins, SR has found an accountant, Mark Lowell, who has agreed to audit the accounts for the Charities Commission.

Beetle Drive raised £94.11 (extra expenses of new cups etc for all events were purchased and costed against this event).

School Calendars raised £173.69

 

PAST EVENTS

Beetle Drive was very successful and enjoyed by everyone. We will do this again next year.

 

FORTHCOMING EVENTS

Pamper Night – Friday 29th February 7.30pm in the School. SR has booked 11 stalls to come to this event with each paying £10.00 that’s £110.00 raised already so well done SR. Tickets £3.00 to include being entered into the free prize draw (this was agreed as we haven’t got an alcohol license so can’t offer a free glass of wine) We will set up in school at 6pm with stall holders arriving at approx 6.30pm for a 7.30pm start.

Quiz night – PG has asked Paul Cooper to run a quiz night for us, we are still trying to finalize a date for this event.

Plants – RK to talk to pre school with regards to selling plants together.

200 Club – This is due to run again starting in April. RK to send out letters ASAP.

Fathers Day Hamper – to be discussed in more detail but briefly this is a raffle of great prizes for men to be put into one or two hampers.

Ball – Sat 22nd November. PG has booked Barnwell V Hall and the Caterers for this date. We are still trying to find a new band.

Fun Day – Sat 10th May 12.30-3.30pm. We need to sell stalls to local people for £10.00. PG has booked two Marquees which are free to villagers as they are paid for out of the ‘village fund’. SR has booked the tables from the clubroom. Set up marquees at approx 6pm the night before, all help needed please.

Village Fete – Sat 7th June – FOTS to do teas. Next fete meeting on 31st March.

Tropical Inc – has been booked for the Teddy Bears picnic on 9th July at 1.30pm at school.

 

NEW IDEAS

The Giving Machine.co.uk – SR has found this website where anyone shopping online at EBay, Woolworths, play.com, John Lewis etc, go through this website and they will give a percentage of the amount spent to the school. SR is going to talk to them to see how it works. RK to send out letters to parents when details are confirmed.

Art Exhibition – RK has mentioned having an art exhibition. All children can paint a picture onto a canvas and this can be sold at an Art Exhibition Evening. Suggested donation of £4.00 for your child’s picture.

Easter Egg Hunt – RK and JM discussed having an Easter egg hunt. Parents will be asked for a £1.50 donation to cover the cost of an Easter egg. A hunt can then be organized. JM and RK to organize this.

Easter Egg Raffle – A rather large Easter egg has been purchased by SR & PG which will be raffled off during the school council cake stall after Easter.

 

WISH LIST

RK has asked for new books and shelf labelling materials for the library totalling approx £194.00

School Council have asked for bird feeders to be placed around the school grounds. FOTS have agreed to give them up to £50 for this. They have also asked for a Buddy Sign to go on the wall for children who want a buddy to sit near. This has been agreed at £39.00.

A while ago FOTS agreed to match any fundraising the school council did, this will be continued for all future fundraising and school council also donate half their proceeds to a charity – GOSH has been nominated by them for this year.

JM has offered to write a letter to parents asking for their support with FOTS and informing them of the resignation of the chair and appointment of the new chair. Also informing them of the Vice Chair Vacancy and of all the fundraising we do and where it is spent.
