Today we had great fun taking part in an African Dance Workshop.

We have been learning about The Christmas Story.  We learnt why people give presents and then wrapped our own for baby Jesus.

This week we have been learning about the wonderful season of autumn.  Inspired by the great book Leaf Man by Lois Ehlert we made our own leaf men from autumn objects.  We then wrote captions to go with the leaf men we created.  In maths we have been learning about patterns and used this knowledge to create our own patterns using water colour paints.  We explored the light and dark shades.  We learnt the important skill of wiping the paintbrush on the water container to get a darker colour.

We had a special visitor to lead a PSHE workshop.  We learnt all about ourselves and why it was important to eat a healthy diet, brush our teeth, wash our faces and have enough sleep.

This week we have been learning about Harvest.  We listened to The Enormous Turnip and Pumpkin.  We made our own pumpkin soup and wrote a set of instructions for how to make it.  We also enjoyed creating a Harvest Shop role play area and wrote labels for the items in the shop.

On Tuesday Mr T taught us some first aid so we can help if someone needs it.

Today we celebrated our Harvest Festival at the church.  We performed the song Great Big Combine Harvester.  We were given our Bibles and could not wait to read them when we returned to school.

This week we have created our own self-portraits.  Can you guess who is who?
