In Year 3, during our English lessons, we have been reading the book The Ink Garden of Brother Theophane. In the book, Brother Theophane, discovers how to create dyes from fruit and vegetables.
So, we tried with spinach, sweet potato and beetroot. We mixed the vegetables in a food processor with hot water and then left cloth in the liquid to see if it would dye the fabric.
We are looking forward to seeing if the process worked, and then writing instructions all about it!
