My name is Carl Skerritt. I became a Parent Governor in October 2008 and a member of the Resources Committee with responsibilty for Maths. I hold a management position within Information Technology for a major utility company. When choosing a school we immediately liked Titchmarsh Primary school for its great reputation, friendliness, small size and values.

I became a governor to help support, and be involved with the school to help ensure that the excellent work already achieved is maintained and the school continues to thrive; providing a great environment for the children to learn and develop important skills and values for their future.

Name: Mrs Alexa Campbell

Staff Governor

Date of Appointment: February 2019

I have been teaching at Titchmarsh Primary School for almost three years, and teaching for twelve years in total. I have worked in a range of different settings. I taught music as a private tutor and at NMPAT for three years and consequently trained as a secondary History teacher. I have taught a wide range of subjects at secondary: History, Philosophy and Ethics (RE), Geography, Humanities, Citizenship and PSHE, as well as teaching Maths and English 1:1 to disadvantaged pupils.

My first school was in Corby where children were often disengaged with education. Whilst there I learnt various methods employed by the school and individual teachers, to engage the parents and pupils in the school community.

My last school prior to joining Titchmarsh was the first all-through school in the country – taking children from 4-18. During my time there, I had a TLR for working with the Gifted and Talented children at KS3, and also ran the Lessons from Auschwitz programme and Holocaust Memorial Day within the school. I also did some cross-phase work in the Primary section which inspired me to take on a role in a Primary school.

At Titchmarsh, I have learnt a great deal. I have taken on the subject leader roles in Literacy, RE, Topic and PSHE and lead the school through its first set of KS2 SATs. I am currently doing my NPQSL qualification to develop my leadership skills. I hope to continue to contribute a positive way to Titchmarsh Primary School.

I feel very privileged to join the Governing Body as a Foundation Governor. I believe that one of the strengths of Titchmarsh C of E School is the stable, close, nurturing environment where children's personalities, learning styles and  needs are well known by staff.  I have witnessed this through the experiences my own children have had at the school and my time spent with the children in my role as 'knitting club helper'.

My career has revolved around clinical nursing and academic neuroscience research.  As a parent I have personal experience of raising children with a range of educational needs, including my eldest who has a severe learning disability.  I'm delighted to be link governor for Special Educational Needs and look forward to working with staff, pupils and parents in this capacity.

I’m Gary Curtis and I have been a parent-governor since the beginning of 2017. My wife Jo and I have lived in Thrapston for the past 12-years and one of our daughters left Titchmarsh at the end of Year 6 two years ago while our other daughter is still at the school. We chose this school as we knew it would give our children the outstanding start in life that they deserve, preparing them for their next steps into further education.

I began my career as an electrician in Norfolk after leaving Fakenham Grammar School and I now work as an electrical engineer and Regional Sales Manager for an American company called ASCO Power Technologies. ASCO make life-safety switchgear which is deployed on many of the major construction projects around the world and here in the UK, from high-rise office and residential buildings to the Crossrail underground project in London.

In my spare time I am an active member of Middle Nene Sailing Club where I sail a SOLO single-handed dinghy. I also enjoy a bit of DIY which has included the renovation of three properties and in recent years the building of a garden-room/study, a Wendy House and lately a tree-house for our girls!

I am committed to working with the terrific staff at our school, alongside my fellow governors, to help ensure all the children remember their years at Titchmarsh C of E Primary School as some of the best of their lives, and that they achieve their absolute best.

Member of the Standards Committee

Date of Appointment: September 2019

Attendance Record 2019-2020: 4/6 meetings

Hello, my name is Sally Marshall. I have two children and my current association with Titchmarsh primary is as a parent to a year 1 pupil. In addition to this my older son spent his primary education at Titchmarsh primary school, he transitioned into senior education in July 2018.

I am a HCPC registered Social worker with a background in child protection, children looked after and children in need.

I am now working within the specialist area of children with disabilities. My social work role has fostered a passion and desire to champion positive outcomes for children and young people.

My motive to undertake the role of school governor was to give something back to both the school and the community and to contribute some of my own work experience to the governing body. I believe I am friendly and approachable.

I have the confidence to ask challenging questions from an informed perspective and aim to support the school to ensure that each child achieves his or her full potential, both educationally and socially during their school career

Ofsted Statement

"Pupils speak with excitement about what it means to be a pupil at Titchmarsh.  The curriculum ensures that they encounter a wide range of interesting activities to broaden their horizons.  The school's faith-based ethos complements the very effective work the school does to promote British values.  Still more importantly, pupils' attitudes towards one another, and their generosity in helping others less fortunate than themselves, demonstrate their commitment to the school's values."
